Am I? My Thought Journal is an app designed to track circumstances that make the user feel sad, anxious, or other negative emotions. This app uses techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to address issues such as depression and anxiety. The app guides users through inputting thought records, which involve recording components such as the circumstance or situation, emotions, and any negative thoughts. To combat negative thinking, the user is prompted to test whether their thoughts are distorted by finding evidence for and against them and to come up with new ways to assess the situations. It was designed by mental health professionals and can be used with or without a therapist. The app’s target audience is youth from 12-18 years old.
