iCounselor: Anxiety is an app designed to help users manage their anxiety. Users first rate their feelings of anxiety on a scale of 0 (“At Ease”) to 10 (“Panicked”). Once the user has selected a rating, they can select a calming activity to practice; the user can also shake their device to receive a suggestion from the app. Descriptions of each activity can be viewed by tapping the item. After viewing the description for the activity, the user is prompted to “go to the next step” for a thought-changing exercise in the same manner. In the third step, the app prompts the user to select a solution. Finally, the user is asked to rate their anxiety again. The app either displays the change in the user’s reported anxiety scores or redirects them to repeat the activity.
