Liberate: Black Meditation is a meditation app developed for those in underserved communities. Meditations cover topics such as Ancestors, Sleep, Anxiety, Anger, Self Worth, and more. Each topic is covered by a teacher who specializes in that topic and community. Users can access information about the teachers through the app and see other meditations provided by the same teacher. Meditations last anywhere from five to twenty-five minutes in length with some meditations having variable length. Additionally, users can save their favorite meditations and utilize search features to find new ones. Upon opening the app users are required to create an account and answer basic questions like, “What is your level of meditation?” and “What topics are you interested in?”. Non-premium users get three free meditations, with a premium subscription costing $9.99 per month.
