Mood Sentry is an app that aims to help users manage symptoms of depression. The home screen has five main sections: References, My Experiences, Daily Reminders, Journaling Tools, and Thriving Tools. ‘References’ provides links to online psychoeducation resources about cognitive distortions. ‘My Experiences’ allows users to document their cognitive distortions, including how they manifest and techniques to mitigate them. ‘Reminders’ prompt users to check in on their mood throughout the day. ‘Journaling Tools’ provide ways to identify and manage problematic and automatic thoughts. ‘Thriving Tools’ lists activities to promote proactive mood management: setting daily goals, identifying a prioritization scheme for yourself, planning for upcoming events, etc. The developer included personal examples throughout each section of how he uses the app. Additional features include the ability to share via e-mail any entry from the ‘My Experiences’, ‘Reminders’, and most ‘Tool Set’ sections.
