Overcoming pain based on EMDR uses bilateral stimulation techniques of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help users manage chronic physical pain symptoms that may be related to stress, anxiety or other psychological causes. The primary feature of the app are sets of audio tracks that walk users through bilateral stimulation exercises (e.g., bilateral sounds, guided bilateral physical exercises, etc.). The audio tracks are categorized into Playlists; “Mental Healing Strategies (Moderate Pain),” “Sensory Healing Strategies (Severe Pain),” and “Stress Management.” Users are also given resources that provide psychoeducation about EMDR and how it is used in therapy.
