Shadow’s Edge is a mobile game that uses gratitude, mindfulness, and psychoeducation to develop emotional resilience, support mental health, and relieve anxiety. Shadow’s Edge takes place in a city that has been engulfed by a storm, making the city appear gloomy. In order to restore the city back to its colorful and expressive state, the user must find ‘pages’, or journal prompts, throughout the city. Answering these journal prompts allows users to access more content such as prompts, graffiti sprays, and other areas of the map. Users can also come across ‘wisdoms’ which teach users a variety of breathing exercises. Other features include a variety of mini-games to help with coping, customizable in-game characters, and an in-app community forum. Shadow’s Edge is available for free.
